Eddie v chicago menu11/8/2023 It came accompanied by some truffle mash potatoes, which I guess were good, but not for me (again, I'm not a fan of truffle). I ordered the 8-oz filet mignon, which arrived exactly how I ordered it (med rare plus). Though the notes were present, I couldn't stop eating that Mac! Potatoes were also great, and the asparagus were. Our evening at Eddie V's was a really wonderful experience made all the better by having it in walking distance from my condo!Ī well deserved 5 Stars for Eddie V's!!!!!!Ĭame here for my friend's birthday dinner on Saturday, which also happened to be restaurant week, and boy were we in for a treat! From the bar to the dining experience, the service was immaculate and the food delicious.Īs the photo shows, we ordered A LOT! Let's start with the sides: crab fried rice was A1! It's been a while since I had fried rice so buttery, flavorful, garlicy, and all around delicious! The truffle Mac also surprised me because I am not a fan of truffle. The room had this elegant feel to it without being pretentious. The staff orchestrating this feast were very polite, very professional and very helpful. Bold, savory, distinctive this dish will have me coming back here a bunch. Double thumbs up on these beauties.īut, the star of the night has yet to come out of the kitchen but when it did come out, it stole the show - the lobster mash potatoes where (what was that show on the cooking channel called - oh yeah, The Best Thing I Ever Ate) they were crazy good. Each rack was cooked a perfect medium rare and they were indeed one of the better lamb dishes I've ever had. The three others all got the rack of lamb and I took a few bites from each of their plates. I ordered there BLT wedge salad that I devoured. Rich and chunky it came with a very good crusty bread. We all started with a really fantastic Beef Tartar. They had so many "good things" going on with their selections a choice would be difficult. So, of course I looked it up and low and behold there was an Eddie V's right up the street from me on Rush and Grand.īANG - I got a RESY for four, walked over, got seated and went through there comprehensive menu like I was studying for a test. Some friends of ours were in town from Palm Springs and were talking about the best rack of lamb they ever had at a place called Eddie V's in Palm Desert. I've never heard of Eddie V's before tonight. Staff only has so much bandwidth, and when BFF's are prioritized, the other paying and loyal patrons will suffer.overall disappointing. The chef and Rachel honestly must have made at least 30 trips to the guys next to us, but our table was simply an infrequent drop by on the way to these guys.they were clearly very good friends to Rachel.we joked that somebody in the party must be ROYALTY! I have never seen 3 guys eat and drink so many courses.Īmbiance was good with the jazz trio, food was good as always, although when Tachel was busy AGAIN with our neighbors, our Ahi Tuna was dropped off by a busboy who said here is your steak tartare?!! Our drinks were slow to arrive, NY Strip steak and crab fried rice slow to arrive, and she never even inquired as to when we wanted what food over our 2 hour stay. Service by Rachel was friendly and efficient, but but she was clearly distracted by the extremely high level of service provided to the 3 gentlemen at the table next to ours. The 2 receptionists seemed quite overwhelmed and not up to other Eddie/Wildfish standards. Upon arrival, had to wait 15 minutes for a table that ended up being right on top of the band(which was great, but too close for us) and not the table as agreed in person the night before. Receptionist told me no problem, and that she marked my reservation as a frequent diner to Eddie's as we frequent Newport Beach location, La Jolla and San Diego. I was VERY specific with the acceptable tables along the outside edge of the bar, right side. My wife and I left Joe's Stone Crab across the street on Friday and went over to Eddie V's and made a reservation for Saturday night 7:15 for the bar/lounge area.
